Brief Synopsis:
THINGS OUTSIDE THE SKIN (t.o.t.s.) is the long-running experimental project of musician and composer Chvad SB, best known for his work with the legendary industrial band Controlled Bleeding. With Controlled Bleeding currently on hiatus, Chvad has reactivated t.o.t.s., a project originally launched in the early ’90s that explores the fringes of electronic, ambient, and industrial music. Known for its unpredictable compositions and raw energy, t.o.t.s. offers a sonic experience that is both cinematic and confrontational—fueled by Chvad’s decades of boundary-pushing experimentation.

In recent years, t.o.t.s. has recorded new material, showcasing a deepening of the project’s signature blend of dark atmospheres, noise textures, satire, and rhythmic intensity. Most recently, he collaborated with his longtime friend and three-time Grammy-winning engineer and producer Marc Urselli, contributing as a featured artist on Urselli’s 2025 album Best of The Ramones Redux, released on Magnetic Eye Records. The project presents reinterpretations of classic Ramones tracks by a diverse range of underground and experimental artists, with Chvad’s contribution highlighting T.O.T.S.’s continued relevance and fearless creativity.
